Neighborhood Christmas Fun

Fifteen plates of cookies were decorated and baked by Phyllis and the neighborhood girls over the past week.  The girls helped give them out to the neighbors on Chirstmas eve.

A Christmas party with about 65 children and their parents complete with gifts for each one and food.  This was a joint effort by a group of Dangriga youth, a local businessman, two missionary families and some friends in the states.
 The gifts are ready!!

The doors are opened.

 A lively worship time.

A spirit of celebration

This was a great event for bonding with our community.  It was the first time we met some of the parents of the children that we are learning to know.  One little boy called Galen "Grandpa".  That's a bit how we feel.

Camp Fun with Neighborhood Children

Since coming to Dangriga in May, 2015,
one of our ministries has been partnering with
other missionaries and local youth leaders
to minister to the children and youth in our neighborhood.
This weekend we had the privilege of joining this group
for a fun time at a Christian Camp.
The crowd of 65 gathered to get instructions and begin the games.
The group gathered in an air-conditioned room for worship and Bible study.

After lunch they played a messy game.
They sprayed water on a large plastic and added baby oil.
Many of the boys wanted to play with that spray nozzle.
The teams lined up to start the fun.
Orelle humbly faces his team as they are given permission
to throw soft bananas at him for misrepresenting them as their leader.
Sorry man. It got a bit messy.
The fun began with a wheel barrow race.
Than they pulled each other backs down.
They added ketchup and mustard to the oil bath.
Horse back riding race next.
After chocolate syrup was added to the mess,
each team raced tunneling under one anothers legs.
Everyone washed off in the river and we cleaned up their mess.
After we took these pictures we left the camp.
We came home to get a nap.
Our prayers remain with the group at camp as
they continue their weekend fun and worship together.
